next level Jiu-Jitsu Academy, located in gilbert, is dedicated to teaching you and your family the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, krav maga and taekwondo.
Open since October 2016, NLJJ provides a family learning environment to practitioners of all ages and abilities. From our kids BJJ classes to our Women’s Only Self-Defense training (which is FREE to the community), we have something for everyone ages 5-95!
In addition to our 4,000 sqft of mat space Boxing Ring Private Training Space Men’s & Women’s Changing Areas with Showers Pro Shop including BJJ GIs, Belts, Boxing Gloves, Gym Attire, we also offer an exercise equipment and fitness area to our adult members. The workout space is available during regularly scheduled hours.

joseph edmondson / Head coach
Our head instructor, Beau Babb, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under The Legion (Marcelo Alonso Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – Tacoma), owned and operated by Marcelo Alonso Black Belt Shawn Gaspaire.
rob brower / adult & Kids coach
Brendin Phillips is the head Muay Thai instructor Legacy Jiu-Jitsu Academy. He is a certified trainer in Srisuk Muay Thai by Master Saohin Srisuk. Growing up he spent time training in multiple stand up martial arts such as Taekwondo, Western Boxing, and Kickboxing before ultimately finding Muay Thai. He also trains full time and competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Isaiah Longstreet / KM coach
During his junior season, placed 5th in the Texas UIL State Championships. Also finished 2nd in Freestyle/Greco State Championships. Finished 1st at Regionals and won District Championship. Placed 2nd at Dixie Dual Nationals. During his senior season, finished 3rd in the Texas UIL State Championships.
DJ is an active amateur MMA fighter, with a current record of 5-0.
doug jennings / krav maga coach
Assistant instructor, Rick Weatherill, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Marcelo Alonso Black Belt George Hissung. Rick has been training in BJJ for over 16 years. His career and passion for BJJ have provided him the opportunity to train in Australia, Texas, and multiple academies in throughout Washington State. Rick regularly travels to Brazil and trains.
